Pokemon Generations Features Blue Vs The Elite Four

A new episode of Pokemon Generations, named The Challenger, is out now. The episode features Blue in his battles against the Kanto region’s Elite Four.
If you’ve ever wanted to see the story of how your original rival Blue became champion of the Pokemon League, shortly before being defeated by the player character Red, then you’ve got to look no further than the latest episode of Pokemon Generations, entitled: The Challenger.
Released on YouTube yesterday, the most recent Pokemon Generations episode features Blue and his quest to battle the strongest trainers in the Kanto region – the Elite Four. The mini-episode shows clips from all four of Blue’s battles, showing him take on Lorelei, Bruno, Agatha, and finally the master of dragons, Lance. The Challenger in the title presumably refers to Blue, though this third instalment also concludes with a second challenger arriving at the Pokemon League.
The episode is also host to a little background information for the Pokemon universe, such as Blue’s distaste for being compared to Professor Oak, and final confirmation that the Elite Four don’t just stand in their rooms all day waiting for challengers. The latest edition to Pokemon Generations ends with Blue finally sitting on the champion’s throne, where he eagerly awaits Red for their final battle.
For those who haven’t heard, Pokemon Generations is a series of bite-sized episodes to be released every week through to December 23. The first two episodes are already available and the entire series will be released for free on YouTube. The series is less like the show that follows Ash’s adventure and more reminiscent of the Japanese Pokemon Origins series that aired last year, telling the story of Red in his quest from the original Pokemon games.
It’s remarkable how memorable the first Pokemon League must have been 20 years ago, in order for it to feel so familiar to see it once again now. Although Pokemon Generations will soon show stories from every region, seeing background to the adventures that players lived back in 1996 brings with it a fantastic wave of nostalgia to 2016’s Year of Pokemon.
The series is also a great way to get Poke-fans new and old excited for the upcoming Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon titles, which will be releasing in November. The first three episodes of Pokemon Generations are available to watch on YouTube right now, with the remaining episodes to be posted every week until December 23, 2016.
