Black Ops 3's Final DLC Comes to PC and Xbox One Soon

The release date for the PC and Xbox One versions of the final Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 DLC, Salvation, points to it being available later this week.
With the release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare just around the corner, the post-launch support for 2015’s entry in the series, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, is coming to a close. For PS4 owners, that final piece of DLC has been available for the past month, and now Call of Duty: Black Ops III enthusiasts on PC and Xbox One will soon be able to get their hands on it as well.
The Salvation expansion for Call of Duty: Black Ops III hits PC and Xbox One on Thursday, October 6th. Season pass owners will be able to download the DLC automatically, but it can also be purchased separately for $14.99. Anyone that is a Black Ops III enthusiast may want to consider purchasing the expansion, as it adds significant content to the game.
Like previous Black Ops III expansions, Salvation introduces four new multiplayer maps to the Black Ops III multiplayer component. This includes two brand new maps, Citadel and Micro, as well as two remakes. The map Outlaw is a remake of Standoff from Black Ops II, and Rupture is a new version of Outskirts from Call of Duty: World at War.
Besides multiplayer maps, Salvation also expands the Black Ops III Zombies mode, introducing a new map called Revelations. Revelations has some new areas for players to explore, but it’s most striking feature is how it blends in locations from previous Zombies maps. Fans that have been following the complicated Zombies plot since its start in World at War will want to prepare themselves for yet another extravagant Zombies Easter Egg if they hope on conquering the different locales of Revelations and seeing how the story ends.
From Revelations to the four new multiplayer maps, it’s clear that the Salvation DLC adds extensive content to the Call of Duty: Black Ops III experience. However, anyone that wasn’t impressed by the core Black Ops III experience will find little reason to return for Salvation. It is very much more of the same, but for Call of Duty enthusiasts, that seems to be exactly what they’re looking for.
Call of Duty fans have a lot to look forward to in November, including the simultaneous launches of Modern Warfare Remastered and Infinite Warfare. The Salvation DLC should help tide them over until they can get their hands on the next full-fledged games in the long-running franchise, and should bring some closure to the Call of Duty: Black Ops III experience.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III is available now for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The Salvation DLC will hit PC and Xbox One on October 6th.
