August 2015 Game Release Schedule

August is where platform exclusives go to die.
Okay, maybe that’s overstating things. Still, August’s release list contains an absolute ton of rerelases of games that debuted on other platforms. Rare Replay and Gears of War: Ultimate Edition bring classic titles to Microsoft’s latest console. Resident Evil: Revelations 2, a console and PC release, hits the Vita. Dishonored gets a current-generation “definitive edition.” Super Mega Baseball, a former PlayStation 4 exclusive (and one of the best sports games in years) makes its way to PC and Xbox One, just a few weeks after the MLB trade deadline. And so on.
Then, at the end of the month, the holiday glut begins in honest. Madden NFL 16, certain to be one of the highest-selling titles of the year, brings the latest rosters to current and last-generation consoles on August 25th. Until Dawn, Supermassive Games’ curious slasher movie simulator, arrives on the same day. Finally, on August 30, Star Wars fever begins in earnest, with Disney Infinity 3.0 brings with it a new set of figures that’ll keep parents’ wallets nice and light.
