New Pokemon GO Update Changes How Gyms Work

A new update is announced for Pokemon GO, which will bring a whole new gym experience to the game, making it easier for all players to train at a friendly location.

Updates continue to be promised for Niantic’s Pokemon GO, as the company announces that it will be changing how gym training works in a future update.

According to a recent update by Niantic on the game’s website, Pokemon GO will soon be changing how gyms work, with particular focus on training at friendly locations. When the future update is complete, players will be able to bring a team of six Pokemon into a friendly gym, rather than just one.

In addition, the CP of the opposing Pokemon will be reduced to the level of the trainers for the duration of the training session. This is sure to make it easier to defeat a teammate’s Pokemon in battle, therefore allowing players to boost the gym levels up considerably, even by themselves.

“No matter what your level, you can now have an impact on your team’s Gym,” reads Niantic’s update post. “Walk with your Buddy Pokémon to that nearby landmark and show your Team Leader that you can battle with the best!”

There’s no word on when this update will begin to roll out, with the developer promising several other features, such as achievements that will make catching rare Pokemon easier also coming sometime in the near future. So far, Niantic has promised a large amount of additions to the game, including a PvP battle system that are yet to be introduced and have no release date, meaning that any could be the next one to be added into the AR title.

In other Pokemon GO news, analysis firm Newzoo has calculated that the app is bringing in $2 million per day, an amount that is certainly enough incentive to keep the team in business for many years to come. And with new ways to play, via the Apple Watch, Android Wear, and Pokemon GO Plus devices coming all the time, there’s no way to know what the game will look like come 2017.

Now that the app is available in even more countries around the world, more and more trainers are starting their very own Pokemon adventures. And with the app raising a lot of money for a range of good causes, it’s becoming a welcome addition to many communities, despite a fair few complaints being raised due to both privacy and safety concerns.
