Destiny: 2 Man Team Beats Full Heroic Raid [VIDEO]

A couple two-man teams have beat the full Wrath of the Machine raid on heroic difficulty, adding yet another notch to the list of Destiny accomplishments.

It was only a matter of time. After a two-man group was able to beat Vosik in Destiny’s Wrath of the Machine raid on Heroic, players knew that it wouldn’t be long before a set of players two-manned the whole raid. Turns out they were right, as a couple Destiny fireteams have beat the raid on Heroic difficulty with only two players.

Although no one can confirm it just yet, it appears that the same duo that two-manned Vosik was the first to complete all of Wrath of the Machine on Heroic. However, shortly thereafter two members from the clan The Legend Himself, the group of Destiny players who have done all sorts of challenges, two-manned the raid as well. Credit where credit is due, though, Gigz and Lethal Vendetta deserve plenty of praise for their efforts.

While plenty of the encounters in the Wrath of the Machine raid seem impossible with less than a full fireteam, these Destiny pros prove that a little strategy and a little luck can go a long way. That’s actually one of the more impressive elements to these Destiny raid runs; they show how the mechanics of the raid can be tweaked to support fewer players.

For example, Gigz and Lethal come up with a brilliant strategy for the Aksis Phase 2 fight – one we have seen before – that involves keeping all of the cannons in a central area and blowing up the servitors as they pass by. It requires perfect timing and call-outs, but clearly the section can be completed with two players.

And even though most players will never two-man or solo the Wrath of the Machine raid, these types of runs also help show off that it is possible to keep going even if one, two, three, or four members of the fireteam die. Yes, there is a lot of communication required, but all is not lost.

For now it seems as though we have reached the pinnacle of Destiny challenges for the foreseeable future. There is one more challenge mode left for Aksis that releases on Tuesday, but as far as the two-mans and the solo runs are concerned there isn’t much left to do. The Destiny challenge community has all but ruled out a solo run on heroic, but there may be some who attempt certain sections by themselves. And if by some magic a player is able to accomplish said feat we will be sure to bring you all the details.
