Infinite Warfare Guide: 'You Know Nothing' Trophy

Infinite Warfare Guide: 'You Know Nothing' Trophy

It’s easy to miss the ‘You Know Nothing’ trophy/achievement in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare‘s campaign. Here’s exactly what players need to do in order to unlock it.

Ever since Game of Thrones star Kit Harington was announced as the primary antagonist for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, many assumed that the game would feature some nods to HBO’s popular fantasy epic. As it turns out, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare does feature a nod to Game of Thrones, specifically Harington’s character Jon Snow, in a campaign Easter Egg that can be completed to unlock one of the game’s trophies.

The trophy in question is called “You Know Nothing,” a reference to a common phrase said to Jon Snow by the wildling Ygritte in Game of Thrones. For those playing through Infinite Warfare‘s campaign that would like to unlock this achievement/trophy, we’ve nailed down when and how to do so. However, in order to explain how to unlock this trophy, we will have to get into some major spoilers for the campaign, so readers should proceed at their own risk.

1. Operation Blood Storm

The final main story mission in Infinite Warfare is Operation Blood Storm. Like the other missions in the game, it is segmented into smaller levels so players can hop back into specific moments without having to redo an entire mission. The first step to unlocking the You Know Nothing trophy is getting to the Trap is Sprung checkpoint of the Operation Blood Storm mission.

At some point during the Trap is Sprung checkpoint in the Operation Blood Storm mission, Captain Nick Reyes and his squad will reach a pair of locked doors. On the other side is a large group of Settlement Defense Front forces, including two robots that players can hack into. Pick one of the robots, hack into it, and then use it to start fighting through the mob of enemies. The goal here is to get to main antagonist Salen Kotch, and then start beating him into submission as a robot. Once Kotch has been incapacitated, control will switch back to Nick, and players are free to confront the villain.

2. When to Kill Salen Kotch

Upon approaching Salen Kotch, he will start spouting off one of his speeches. Eventually, the game will prompt the player to click in the right analog stick to initiate a brutal melee killing of Kotch. If players wait until the on-screen prompt appears, then it’s too late to unlock the trophy, and they will have to reload the checkpoint.

The trick to this trophy is initiating a melee kill on Kotch BEFORE the prompt appears. Basically, players need to stab him either as soon as Reyes puts the knife to his head, or in the middle of his speech. By cutting off Kotch’s final words, players will unlock the You Know Nothing trophy.

Some tougher trophies like finding all the equipment upgrade stations and beating the game on Veteran difficulty are sure to test players’ skills, but with Salen Kotch dead and the You Know Nothing trophy unlocked, they should be well on their way to unlocking the rest of the trophies in Infinite Warfare‘s campaign.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
