The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Replica to Be Sold

Collectible statue makers First 4 Figures officially announce the release of its high-quality replica of the titular mask in The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask.
Throughout the existence of Nintendo’s long-running The Legend of Zelda franchise, there have been an innumerable amount of official collectibles and memorabilia created for the series to be sold to adoring fans. While smaller and more inexpensive trinkets such as pocket watches and figurines surely catch the eye of the casual fan, it’s safe to say that many of the series’ hardcore devotees often shell out a sizeable portion of their paycheck for full-scale models of assets from the game like the Majora’s Mask replica being crafted by the collectible statue makers at First 4 Figures.
As seen in the YouTube video from First 4 Figures below, fans are able to pre-order the life-size Majora’s Mask replicas now, with a planned shipping date being the third quarter of 2017. The Legend of Zelda collectible weighs in at 8 kilograms – roughly 18 pounds – stands at a height of 25 inches and a width of 23 inches, and comes complete with removable horns.
As it happens, the Majora’s Mask replica is going to have two different versions from which The Legend of Zelda fans can chose. On the lower end of the price scale, one can purchase the standard edition, which costs $355. Then there’s the exclusive edition of the Majora’s Mask model that includes LEDs to make the eyes glow, which is listed at $385.
First 4 Figures has been working on Zelda statues for quite some time now, so it makes sense for Nintendo to push the RPG series into the field of life-size replicas. Interestingly enough, in order to create Majora’s Mask model, designer Manis Nautiyal used game files to bring one of the video game medium’s most recognizable pieces of iconography to life, and based on the gallery below, many would argue that he rendered the vivid hues and somewhat menacing appearance perfectly.
Of course, there are some fans who tend to be more creatively inclined and wish to take the creation of memorabilia based on their favorite video games into their own hands. For instance, rather than pay what Nintendo has determined its official merchandise to be worth, a group of blacksmiths spent their money on the materials to make what they wanted by forging a replica Hylian Shield.
Obviously, First 4 Figures’ life-size recreation of Majora’s Mask is wonderful, albeit expensive, so it makes sense for the company to still be on the fence when it comes to how limited the run will be and exactly when they will release. In the meantime, should there be fans out there that still want to own even more The Legend of Zelda memorabilia without breaking the bank or devoting time and energy to its creation, there’s always elaborate, but cost-effective collectibles like the Monopoly version of The Legend of Zelda, or even smaller items like trading cards.
