With the release date of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild just around the corner, fans of the acclaimed The Legend of Zelda series may well feel the need to play some of the classic games from the franchise’s history. Thankfully, Nintendo is going to offer up some discounts on plenty of games from the series, with a substantial sale starting very soon.
Dubbed The Legend of Zelda Weeks, the sale is exclusive for European Nintendo eShop users, although there is of course the possibility of a similar sale coming to North American fans soon. The sale, which is open to My Nintendo members, will run from 26 January through to 9 February 2017, and will offer up a 30% price reduction for games from The Legend of Zelda franchise. Below is the announcement video from Eiji Aonuma.
A huge number of games will be available in the sale, for both 3DS and Wii U, while additional Zelda-themed content will also be up for grabs. Although Breath of the Wild will be the last Nintendo game for the Wii U, that’s not the only Wii U Zelda game that has come out for the console. Discounts will be available for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, while spin-off title Hyrule Warriors will also be reduced.
3DS users will also have some good sales on the go. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds will see the 30% discount, as well as Hyrule Warriors Legends, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, and The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D. Meanwhile, those trying to beat The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past blindfolded will also see an enticing discount on the game, available for both 3DS and Wii U.
Indeed, a wide number of classics from the series will be available, so those after an old-school Zelda thrill could see a potential bargain in this sale. Of course, those who have a Switch pre-order nailed down may feel a little hesitant to delve too deep into the sale – at least until Nintendo has clarified whether these games will be carried over to a Switch library.
Alongside the games themselves, Nintendo is also making some additional content available in the sale. 3DS users will be able to pick up a number of home menu Zelda themes, while players of both Hyrule Warriors and Hyrule Warriors Legends can pick up DLC at a discount.
