Injustice 2 Mobile Trailer Features Scarecrow, Cyborg

A new trailer for the mobile version of NetherRealm Studios’ forthcoming fighting game Injustice 2 surfaces online, featuring the likes of Scarecrow and Cyborg.

While it’s safe to presume that most Injustice 2 fans are eagerly awaiting what is considered by many to be one of the most highly anticipated video games of 2017, fans in the Philippines can already experience the fighting title in a way via the soft launch for its mobile version on Android and iOS devices. Even more interestingly, a fresh gameplay trailer for the mobile iteration of Injustice 2 has surfaced online, which shows off the as-of-yet unannounced characters of Scarecrow and Cyborg.

As seen below in the video courtesy of Allstars Productions on YouTube, both Cyborg and Scarecrow can be found on the receiving end of a beat down by the likes of the DC hero Batman and the villain Harley Quinn. With this being the case, neither Cyborg nor Scarecrow are given a moment to shine or show off any abilities, for when all of the DC icons show up on the screen, Scarecrow and Cyborg get decidedly pummeled by the Caped Crusader and by the Joker’s main squeeze.

For those unaware, the most recent character reveals for Injustice 2 came by way of a brawl fest of a trailer, which detailed the personalities and move sets of not only Catwoman and Cheetah, but also Black Canary and Poison Ivy. Just a day prior to the confirmation of these female combatants, NetherRealm Studios decided to unveil Swamp Thing by giving him a trailer all his own that was dedicated to his environmentally-friendly fighting skills.

So, while Cyborg and Scarecrow have yet to be officially confirmed for Injustice 2, with NetherRealm Studios steadily unveiling characters on a weekly basis, there’s a chance for the Batman antagonist and cybernetically-enhanced superhero to be unveiled soon, if not by next week. However, there’s also the possibility of neither fighter making their way into Injustice 2 as playable characters on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, for although the game’s creative director Ed Boon has promised many more heroes and villains will be added, he also has said that they will be more obscure choices.

Since Ed Boon clearly wants to set the roster of Injustice 2 apart from its predecessor with more lesser known characters, Cyborg and Scarecrow might not go on to make the cut for the title’s console version. After all, both have already appeared in the original in some capacity, with Cyborg being a playable fighter and Scarecrow showing up as a transitional hazard, so Boon and his team might choose to steer clear of adding any more DC figures that were in Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Injustice 2 is set to release on May 16, 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but an official date has not been set for its Android and iOS versions in the West.
