Telltale Games Could Be Coming to the Switch

In 2016, Telltale Games took its first steps into the superhero genre with its adaptation of Batman, and later this year the studio will follow-up with a series starring the Guardians of the Galaxy. Now, there’s evidence that both of these games will soon make their way to the Nintendo Switch.

Multiple retailers have listed physical versions of Telltale’s takes on Batman and Guardians of the Galaxy for the Switch, including Russian web store GameBuy and the UK’s 365games. Newegg has also posted a listing for the latter game, demonstrating that this isn’t just a European phenomenon.

When Guardians of the Galaxy was unveiled at The Game Awards last year, the reveal trailer stated that the series would be coming to consoles, but didn’t mention any particular platforms. Telltale’s Batman series was released for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One — but is yet to make its debut on Nintendo hardware.

It would certainly make sense for both games to come to the Switch. Telltale’s output lends itself to being played communally, and being played on the go, and obviously that kind of content is right at home on Nintendo’s latest piece of hardware.

Telltale’s games continue to strike a chord with audiences, so it would benefit Nintendo if they were to be ported to the Switch. With a new series of The Walking Dead currently ongoing, and a second series of Game of Thrones in the works, now’s the time to get Telltale’s engine up and running on the new hardware.

Batman: The Telltale Series is available now for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, and mobile. Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is scheduled to launch on consoles, PC, and mobile in 2017.
