The Division's PC Graphics Options Have Leaked

A leaked alpha gameplay video from The Division has revealed the graphical options for PC users, and it looks like Ubisoft has given fans plenty to work with.

The Division is a title that was originally slated for a console-only release, but fan demand convinced Ubisoft that creating a version for PC would probably turn out to be good for business. MMO games often find themselves right at home on PC systems, and The Division looks like it will fit right in with the PC platform as players fight to keep order in New York City after a disease forces social to collapse in on itself.

Ubisoft Massive had promised that the PC version of The Division wouldn’t just be a downgraded port, and a recent leak from alpha gameplay footage looks like they’ve kept their word. Select gamers have spent the last few weeks with alpha gameplay access to The Division, although due to a strict non-disclosure agreement they are forbidden from posting game clips to the public. This hasn’t stopped several gamers from uploading clips of alpha gameplay footage to YouTube, though Ubisoft has been vigilant and swift about getting such videos taken down.

It looks like the alpha edition of the game is filled with a plethora of graphical adjustment options, and gamers playing from powerhouse computers will be able to really make the game shine, and even going so far as to remove the frame rate limiter from the game. Most gamers will have ample opportunity to check out these options for themselves when the beta goes live on January 28. Since beta access was offered as a bonus in a Humble Bundle that sold over 18,000 purchases, we expect to see plenty more YouTube videos in the coming weeks.

Though the video in question has been taken down, forum users from NeoGAF were able to jot down each and every option on display in the alpha. PC gamers, feast your eyes on this:

  • Vsync (on/off)
  • Frame Rate Limit (on/off)
  • Shadow Quality
  • Shadow Resolution
  • Spot Shadow Count
  • Spot Shadow Resolution
  • Contact Shadows
  • Post FX AA
  • Temporal AA
  • Sharpen Image (%)
  • Particle Detail
  • Enable Wind-affected Snow
  • Volumetric Fog
  • Reflection Quality
  • Local Reflection Quality
  • Sub-surface Scattering
  • Anisotropic Filtering
  • Parallax Mapping
  • Ambient Occlusion
  • Depth of Field
  • Object Detail (%)
  • Extra Streaming Distance (%)
  • Chromatic Aberration (on/off)
  • Lens Flare (on/off)
  • Vignette Effect (on/off)

The gamer that originally uploaded the video reported that the computer he was playing on was churning up a highly agreeable 55-60 frames per second on low settings, and this was on a three-year-old video card. The ability to toggle a frame rate limit is a great touch for PC users, and it looks like gamers both with and without powerful gaming rigs should be able to find a way to make The Division work smoothly for them.

What do you think about the graphical options for PC users of The Division, Ranters?

The Division is scheduled to release on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on March 8th this year.
