Dishonored 2 Features Voice Talent From Game of Thrones

Arkane Studios set a high bar for voice acting with the original Dishonored, but it appears Dishonored 2 will feature even more vocal talent than before.

Sometimes, it can be pretty easy to identify the different elements that go in to making a revolutionary game truly great. In Bethesda’s Dishonored, which was highly praised for a number of different features, it was a mix of nuanced gameplay, fascinating storytelling, an engaging atmosphere, and some of the best voice acting in modern gaming. Arkane Studios’ innovative IP relied on being more than a jack of all trades – much like the game’s hero, Corvo Attano, the developers found success by being a master of many different approaches to their craft.

All of Dishonored‘s accomplishments, however, has made the wait for Dishonored 2 that much longer, and the weight of expectations that much heavier in the meantime. Gamers now know that Dishonored 2 will be released on November 11, 2016, and Arkane Studios has now shared a list of names that proves the developers will be looking to improve on everything in the upcoming sequel, including the previous game’s already stellar voice acting lineup.

The list of vocal talent for Dishonored 2 is an exciting mix of returning stars and memorable pop culture voices. Vincent D’Onofrio, best known recently as Wilson Fisk on Marvel’s Daredevil, will voice the Duke of Serkonos, who will likely play a major role in Dishonored 2‘s narrative. Rosario Dawson of Daredevil and Sin City fame will voice Meagan Foster, the Captain of the Dreadful Wale, while Pedro Pascal, who recently stole scenes and hearts in HBO’s Game of Thrones, will voice Paolo, the Howler Gang Leader.

Meanwhile, Arkane Studios will also be making some changes to more than just Dishonored 2‘s setting, which will be tropical rather than Gothic Victorian. Corvo Attano, originally a voiceless protagonist, will now be voiced by Stephen Russell, who has voice acting credits as Nick Valentine in Fallout 4 and Garrett in Thief among other appearances in the industry. The Outsider will also sound different in the sequel, as his voice acting will now be done by Robin Lord Taylor of Gotham‘s Penguin fame.

While fans typically remember Dishonored for its complex and open gameplay, it’s clear from Arkane Studios’ reveal of the sequel’s voice acting talent that the developer hasn’t forgotten the other elements that made the first game so memorable. Now gamers know for certain that Dishonored 2 could sound even better than its predecessor, and if the Dishonored 2 announcement trailer from E3 2015 is any indication, it appears the sequel will also improve on Dishonored‘s already impressive gameplay as well.
