Resident Evil 7 Releases New Screenshots

Resident Evil 7 Releases New Screenshots

Update: The Twilight Version update for Resident Evil VII‘s Beginning Hour demo is available now for all PS4 owners!

Publisher and developer Capcom releases two new screenshots depicting the creepy atmospherics for its forthcoming survival-horror title Resident Evil 7.

Following an announcement earlier this week that Resident Evil 7 will make good use of the PS4 Pro’s graphics, Capcom has decided to give fans an even clearer idea of what kind of spooky imagery will be on display once the title releases at the beginning of next year. In order to do so, the publisher and developer has now released two new and mysterious screenshots for the game by way of its Ambassador’s Program.

Not only has Capcom now peeled away another layer that is the enigmatic onion of Resident Evil 7 with two fresh, yet disturbing stills, but also the company has offered a notion of what’s to come during its presence at Tokyo Game Show 2016. Apparently, this year’s Japanese gaming expo is going to be used to release new details about the survival-horror title, as Capcom has said, “We hope you’re also looking forward to the new Resident Evil 7: biohazard info we’ll be releasing at the Tokyo Game Show 2016 later this week!”

Although Capcom didn’t even so much as provide a hint as to what kind of materials will be revealed, if the below screenshots are any indication, it’s safe to say that Resident Evil 7‘s showing at TGS 2016 will be unsettling to say the least. For starters, the top picture depicts what seems to be a situation reminiscent of moments from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre films with Marguerite Baker and her family eating around a dinner table, while the bottom has vibes associated with a nightmarish scenario straight out of the mind of director David Lynch.

As mentioned by the NeoGAF user known as Dusk Golem, beyond this recent reveal through Resident Evil 7‘s Ambassadors, an earlier email by way of the program showed the infamous dummy finger from the demo pointing to this weekend. This could be a clue in which Capcom is alluding to its plans to update to the game’s Beginning Hour demo at Tokyo Game Show 2016 and have the context from the above images tie into the trial in some way.

Of course, since more information regarding Resident Evil 7 will be revealed in the next couple of days, it’s best to simply exercise patience and wait for the potential surprises in store. Nevertheless, with Capcom being strategically coy about the game’s content, it’s difficult to not want to know more right this second. Should that be the case for some Resident Evil 7 fans, they can spoil themselves and receive some story details thanks to the ESRB’s rating and description of the game.
