Turok 2: Seeds of Evil is Making A Comeback

Night Dive Studios’ Community Manager reveals that Turok 2: Seeds of Evil is well on its way to the PC, and that the development team is working to create an authentic experience.

Whether as remakes, remasters, or ports, classic games have a tendency to make it back to modern gaming systems. Night Dive Studios has now confirmed that it’s still committed to making Turok 2: Seeds of Evil one of the classic games to re-emerge on the PC.

In a brief statement on Steam, Daniel Grayshon announced that Night Dive Studios is indeed working on a port to the classic FPS shooter, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil for the PC. Grayshon didn’t provide any sort of release window for the title, explaining that Night Dive Studios’ first goal is to make sure that the game is treated with the respect it deserves. However, that didn’t stop fans of the team from showing their excitement in the comment section that the port is still underway.

While it was previously revealed that Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, and its predecessor, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter would be coming to the Xbox One and PC, the original game released with no further information regarding the sequel. In addition, Night Dive Studios went quiet after that, with no further announcements or updates regarding the project. According to the Community Manager, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil has been in development since Night Dive Studios released Turok for the PC last year. However, the team went quiet due to contractual obligations, as the studio is limited in what they can talk about regarding the game during this phase of development.

Night Dive Studios has their hands full with Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, as its multiplayer mode will most likely need some significant tweaks to work on modern gaming PCs and high-speed internet. Thankfully, the development team is no stranger to porting older classics, as it was formerly responsible for the ports of The 7th Guest and The 11th Hour, and it received bountiful praise for its handling of the PC port of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter.

If Night Dive Studios’ last foray into the world of Turok is any indication, fans of the series can expect Turok 2: Seeds of Evil to be completely faithful to the original release. Like Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, it will undoubtedly offer an increased resolution and improved draw distance over its original N64 and PC port releases. However, Night Dive Studios leaves the overall game intact, including its original appearance, so gamers who loved Turok 2: Seeds of Evil back in the day will most likely be pleased that everything is just the way they remembered it.

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil‘s release date is TBA for PC and Xbox One.
