Resident Evil 7 Final Demo Available Today on PS VR

Resident Evil 7 Final Demo Available Today on PS VR

At the PlayStation Experience event, Sony announces that the third and final demo for Resident Evil 7 will be available to download later tonight, with PS VR support.

Since this past summer, fans have been forcing themselves through both the Beginning Hour demo for Resident Evil VII and its Twilight Version update, trying their best to solve the demos’ many mysteries. So far, the demos have offered little in the way of answers, but all that may change when the third and final demo for Resident Evil VII becomes available to download for all PS4 owners later tonight.

Said to be a “huge” update, fans are expecting the final Resident Evil VII demo to wrap up the lingering mysteries as well as provide a proper ending. The past two demos end the exact same way no matter what fans do, with the evil Jack Baker punching out the protagonist (who is not necessarily Resident Evil VII hero Ethan Winters), leaving him with the message, “Welcome to the family, son!”

Even if the new Resident Evil VII demo doesn’t provide the answers fans have been looking for, it will at least allow them to have a better idea of what to expect from the final product. That’s because it will likely show off some more gameplay mechanics that haven’t been seen in the previous demos, and it will also support PlayStation VR.

Virtual reality has been pushed as one of the main selling points for Resident Evil VII on PS4 over its counterparts on PC and Xbox One, but until now, fans have only been given a very brief taste of its VR capabilities in the Kitchen VR demo. In theory, the third and final Resident Evil VII demo should do a much better job at showcasing what playing the game in VR will actually be like.

So, when exactly can fans download the third Resident Evil VII demo and try out the game in VR? Unfortunately, a specific time wasn’t given by the presenters at the PlayStation Experience. All that’s been revealed is that the demo will be available at some point “tonight,” so those interested should keep an eye on the PlayStation Store for the updated demo.

When the new Resident Evil VII demo does become available, fans will be quick to start exploring it for new features and story developments. Perhaps the game’s gun combat will finally a play a role, or maybe a possible connection to the Umbrella Corporation teased in previous demos will be detailed. It’s hard to say, but fans won’t have to wait long to find out exactly what the final Resident Evil VII demo has to offer.

Resident Evil VII will be available on January 24th, 2017 for PC, PS4, PlayStation VR, and Xbox One.
