Ghost Recon: Wildlands Beta Registration Begins

Ghost Recon: Wildlands Beta Registration Begins

Registration for the beta test of Ubisoft’s forthcoming open world tactical shooter Ghost Recon: Wildlands officially begins, with fans being able to sign up now.

About a month ago, Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot declared that the company’s game Ghost Recon: Wildlands was to receive an open beta sometime “next quarter.” Although there is still no word as to exactly when this testing period for the title will officially begin, Ubisoft has now revealed that fans of the franchise can now start registering for the beta right now.

In order to get a chance to play Ghost Recon: Wildlands‘ beta, fans will need to visit Ubisoft’s website right here to sign up and get the full rundown on all of the details that are currently available in relation to the trial. As of now, the publisher and developer hasn’t explicated exactly what the selection process will entail, so it seems as if not everyone who registers will get to take part in the beta. Nevertheless, Ubisoft has declared that more information on the matter will be revealed “soon.”

In addition to the announcement of Ghost Recon: Wildlands‘ beta, Ubisoft has also released a brand new trailer for the game, providing potential players with a short overview of a mission briefing for what is known as”Operation: Kingslayer” – presumably the crux of the title’s campaign. As seen in the footage below, fans taking on the mission will have total “autonomy” in the game’s full open world map to infiltrate and destroy the Santa Blanca Cartel, with would-be Ghosts needing to think strategically on their own, while also relying on the help of teammates, the latest weapons technology, and an underfunded rebel group known as the Kataris 26.

For those unaware, Ghost Recon: Wildlands will be playable solo or with up to four players in co-op, providing fans with the ability to either work together in a group for a common cause, or to go it alone. Of course, there’s no telling at this point in time if the cooperative aspect of the game will be available during the beta, but there’s a high likelihood of it being featured due to Ubisoft’s steady insistence of its existence.

Should Ubisoft only provide single-player features to Ghost Recon: Wildlands‘ beta, fans who get the opportunity to try the game out can take solace in the fact that there are plenty of ways to survive as a solo operative. As a matter of fact, Dominic Butler, the title’s lead game designer, commentated on a 12 minute demo offering stealth gameplay tactics.

Although whatever Ubisoft plans to include in the beta for Ghost Recon: Wildlands is still up in the air, it’s safe to presume that there will still be plenty of fans registering to try it out ahead of its official launch. With many considering the title to be one of the best games of E3 2016, those who haven’t had any hands-on time with Ghost Recon: Wildlands will certainly want to find out what all the fuss is about.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands is set to launch on March 7, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
