Spanish Rainbow Six Siege Operator Jackal Revealed

Spanish Rainbow Six Siege Operator Jackal Revealed

Ubisoft releases a teaser video and an official profile for the first Spanish operator in Rainbow Six Siege‘s Velvet Shell content, which is due this February.

Rainbow Six Siege is due to begin its second year of content next month, and fans already have a fair idea of what to expect: 8 new operators, 4 new maps, and plenty of cosmetic items are slated to arrive throughout the year. Fans have already had their first taste of the upcoming Rainbow Six Siege content thanks to a teaser video of the first new map, but the Spanish operators who tie-in with the upcoming content have remained shrouded in mystery.

Today, Ubisoft has released the official profile for the first Spanish operator, Ryad Ramirez Al-Hassar, who will go by the codename Jackal. Presumed to be rostered as an Attacker, Jackal will sport the C7E and PDW9 as his primary weapons, and the ITA 12S and USP 40 as his secondaries.

While Ubisoft has stated that the operator’s special ability won’t be revealed until Siege‘s Six Invitational event next weekend, the above video doesn’t leave much left for the imagination. Within the short teaser video, Jackal activates a special visual headset which allows him to see footprints left behind by the opposing team. Whether this ability will have a timed cooldown like Caveira’s silent walk is still up in the air, but it certainly gives the defending team something to think about when they choose to roam.

According to Jackal’s official backstory, he was seventeen years old when he and his brother were attacked in a presumed case of street violence. Having barely survived the event – and with his brother deceased – Ryad swore to uncover the mystery behind his brother’s death, and enrolled in the Cuerpo Nacional de Policia when he came of age. He later joined the Grupo Especial de Operaciones, which is a unit we predicted would be featured by the Spanish operators.

Gamers interested in getting early access to any of the upcoming operators can pick up the Year 2 Season Pass right now, which grants season pass holders a week of early access to each operator duo as they release. There’s also a selection of cosmetic battle dress uniforms and headgear which come bundled with the deal, and a few other bonuses like a 10% store discount and bonus challenges. Those who buy into the season’s pass before February 7 will also get an exclusive black obsidian universal weapon skin.

The Velvet Shell content update is expected to release in early February, with an official release date due to come either during or after Siege‘s Six Invitational, which takes place from February 3-5. In any event, fans will get a good look at both Ryad “Jackal” Ramirez Al-Hassar and Elena “Mira” Alvarez Del Manzan during the event.

Do you think Jackal and his footprint detecting ability will be a good fit with the other Rainbow Six Siege operators, Ranters?

Rainbow Six Siege is available now for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
