Is This Mega Bloks Set Based On a Scene From Destiny 2?

Information about an upcoming Mega Bloks set could be hinting at a future story event in Destiny 2 featuring an invasion of the Last City’s Tower by the Cabal.

Any concrete news or leaks of Destiny 2 have been relatively scarce. Despite some concept art that proved to be a rejected pitch for Destiny’s sequel, there is not much to go on about what might happen in the game’s narrative. But it’s possible that Mega Bloks, who has created other Destiny sets in the past, may have spilled the beans just a bit about what will be coming in Destiny 2.

Fans recently discovered a description for a Destiny Mega Bloks set, which is set to release sometime in the future. And it may be hinting at an event that could take place in Destiny 2. And if it does, the assumptions made from there lead to some pretty major conclusions about the story events that could occur in the sequel to Bungie’s sci-fi looter shooter.

In information originally gleaned by a post on Amazon and passed around numerous forums, the upcoming Mega Bloks set in question was found, called the Cabal Brusier Battle Building Set. Here is the official description of the set:

“Set the scene for a clash between a Bruiser’s crushing strength and a master swordsman’s skill

A legendary warrior faces his greatest contest yet in the Tower hangar

Wielding his Raze-Lighter, hero of the Crucible Lord Shaxx prepares to pit his blade against the furious cleavers of a Cabal Red Guard”

Intriguing about this set is that it takes place in the Tower hangar, one of the game’s social hubs, and in the story a safe haven for Guardians who have defended it and the Last City from enemy forces. It appears that the set depicts an assault by the Cabal on the Tower itself.

As Destiny content creator MyNameisByf discusses in his video on the topic, this presents the possibility of a major plot point for Destiny 2. There are many references in Destiny that the Cabal is a growing threat. One of the last story missions of The Taken King tasks the players with investigating an outbound signal, which they discover at the end of that mission was being sent to the emperor of the Cabal empire.

The set also features Lord Shaxx using a Raze-Lighter to fight the Cabal. This scene has not happened in Destiny, so the question is if it will happen in the sequel, whether that means it’ll be playable or in the form of a cutscene remains to be seen. However, before traveling too far down the road with this rumor, the other possibility is that this set is just a mixture of known Destiny characters, locations, vehicles, and weapons to make for a cool Mega Blocks set and has absolutely no bearing on what might happen in the future of Destiny.

Many fans are expecting the Cabal to play a major part in Destiny 2, considering that the game has yet to feature a Cabal-themed raid and High Moon Studios, who is working on Destiny 2 alongside Bungie, is rumored to be working on content featuring Mars and the Cabal.

Bungie has yet to officially anything about Destiny 2, but Activision has ensured fans that the sequel is still on track for release this year. Before a sequel, whenever it arrives, Bungie has also promised a content update for Destiny in the spring and a sandbox rebalancing update in mid-February.
