New Mass Effect: Andromeda Screens Highlight Companions

New screenshots of Mass Effect: Andromeda surface on Twitter today, with new looks at the Krogan and Asari companions that will accompany the Ryder twins.

With just over a month before Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s release to go, news regarding BioWare’s latest instalment in the sci-fi RPG series has been hitting hard and fast. Just recently, Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s director discussed the game’s villains, the Kett, stating that they would be more nuanced and intriguing than the original trilogy’s Reapers. While Mass Effect: Andromeda has a lot to live up to, statements like that have gotten fans of the series incredibly excited.

It wouldn’t be a new Mass Effect game without a focus on the title’s visuals, however, and BioWare has been providing several new screenshots focusing on Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s exploration and the various companions players will work with during their mission. Today, fans got another peek at some of their team, with new screenshots highlighting the Krogan and Asari companions players will be looking to for support (and perhaps romance) upon the game’s release:

Those screenshots come courtesy of renowned Mass Effect insider shinobi602, who also indicated earlier last month that, right around now, there would be more screenshots and longer gameplay videos being released. Hopefully, some of those gameplay videos showcase the companions of Mass Effect: Andromeda, as fans are eager to learn more about the Krogan and Asari – the latter of which is clearly not Peebee – featured here and whether or not they will be romancing them in the near future.

In the meantime, fans will be happy to know that BioWare has looked to some stellar inspiration while mulling over how to improve the Mass Effect series. A recent interview with producer Fabrice Condominas revealed that BioWare intends for Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s side quests to be as meaningful as The Witcher 3‘s were. Given the praise CD Projekt Red’s game received for the way it made side quests feel important, it appears Mass Effect: Andromeda will be keeping good company.

New screenshots are nice – any news regarding Mass Effect: Andromeda is, at this point – but fans will still be waiting for a new gameplay video to surface soon before many minds are made up about the newest Mass Effect title. Until then, they’ll have to be satisfied with a few more glimpses into Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s complex, enthralling universe, and wonder whether or not the game can possibly live up to the pedigree of its predecessors.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will release on March 21, 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
