Ghost Recon: Wildlands Interactive Map Unlocks Rewards

In preparation for the release of Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Ubisoft launches a special online gaming event that lets gamers explore the world of Ghost Recon: Wildlands.

Game developers are always finding ways to engage with gamers outside the video games they release. Whether it’s through social media, videos, contests, or special apps, there are a myriad of ways for gamers to connect with their favorite games and developers.

In preparation for the upcoming Ghost Recon: Wildlands release, Ubisoft has launched a new website experience for fans of the series. The event, called World With No Heroes, gives gamers a chance to visit the world of Ghost Recon: Wildlands and participate in a handful of mini games. Doing so will reward players with in-game customization additions and boosts they can use once the game goes live.

We’ll quickly point out that the World With No Heroes event is currently locked to territories outside the United States. There’s no word from Ubisoft as to why this is the case, but for now US fans cannot access the event. Fortunately, one Redditor took the time to record each of the activities within the app on the website so everyone can at least see the events unfold.

Those who are able to play through the World With No Heroes will experience an interactive world set in the map of Ghost Recon: Wildlands. Players will watch video feeds to learn more about the world and people of Bolivia, including the enemies they’re set to face once the game goes live. Additionally, players are tasked with actions, such as identifying or spotting targets. The game is fairly simple and straight forward, and only requires that players complete 50 percent of the activities to unlock the available rewards.

The rewards include four emblems, which players will be able to include on their characters using the customization settings in the game. There is also a 2-hour XP boost, which gives players a 50 percent boost, along with a 25 percent boost to each of their teammates.

Those who cannot access the World With No Heroes activity can still prepare for the release of Ghost Recon: Wildlands by checking out the 30 minute short film War Within the Cartel. The brief movie gives fans an inside look into the Santa Blanca Cartel and can be found on Amazon.

Gamers will also get a chance to check out new areas of the Ghost Recon: Wildlands map via the upcoming open beta. After the mixed success of the closed beta a couple weeks ago, gamers are anxious to try new areas and see what fixes have been made to the game. Many players will undoubtedly use the opportunity to seek out activities and areas outside the beta map, much like they did during the closed beta. It’ll be interesting to see what players find and how their discoveries mix with the findings in World With No Heroes.
