Nintendo Teases Zelda: Breath of the Wild Documentary

Gamers will soon get a glimpse into the creation of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild thanks to a three-part documentary series from Nintendo. The series, dubbed Making of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, will debut tomorrow at 6:00 AM PT.

The announcement comes by way of the Nintendo of America Twitter account, which made the reveal via a quick, 30-second teaser trailer. Based on the footage shown in the trailer, gamers will learn about the graphic design choices for Link and the other characters in the game, as well as the world creation and music composition.

There are still a few details left for Nintendo to reveal about the three-part behind-the-scenes series, such as how gamers will be able to watch it. At the end of the trailer, the logos for the Wii U and Nintendo Switch pop up, hinting that it may be made available first via Nintendo’s two at-home consoles. It’s also possible that Nintendo will release the series on its YouTube channel, which has garnered a lot of interest lately thanks to some compelling trailers.

It’s also unknown if Nintendo plans to release all three parts at once or in regular intervals. There’s also no word on how long each part will be. Gamers can expect Nintendo to provide more details as the launch time draws closer.

The Breath of the Wild documentary will undoubtedly draw a lot of attention as gamers, critics, and other developers look to learn from the team behind the highly-praised Zelda title. The game has received enough glowing reviews that it has set a new Metacritic record with 43 perfect scores recorded so far. That’s no small feat in such a highly competitive gaming market.

It’ll be interesting to learn why Nintendo made certain decisions along the way, including the choices that caused the game to be delayed on multiple occasions. Obviously, those delays helped the game in the end, but it’s still nice to learn how the game could have been different.

While Nintendo surely won’t reveal all its secrets behind making such a stellar game, hopefully the gaming giant will give enough details for other developers to take note. It would be amazing if all game developers were able to release products as polished and enjoyable as Breath of the Wild.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is currently available for Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
