Two New Rainbow Six Siege Operators Leak

Two New Rainbow Six Siege Operators Leak

Details and images regarding two new operators set to appear in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege with the Operation Black Ice expansion appear in a post on Reddit.

After a slight delay, the first major expansion called Operation Black Ice is finally getting ready to release for Rainbow Six Siege, adding new operators and a new map into the mix. Unfortunately for Ubisoft, the details for this expansion have been less than secret as promotional material managed to leak out of the Mexico office just last week. As the release date nears, images of the two new Canadian Operators being added have now slipped out as well and seem to confirm the information from the initial leak.

Thanks to Reddit user Fireinyoyrhole, Siege fans may have gotten a first look at the new operators joining the already robust cast of special forces units. According to the leaked images, the Joint Task Force operators are known as Frost and Buck. Buck is an attack operator who is able to toggle on an under-barrel shotgun on his main weapon, so if you’ve ever wanted to carry both a shotgun and automatic rifle into combat, he is your guy. Frost is the defensive operator of the duo and she comes armed with a mechanical trap that will be able to incapacitate enemies. Whether that means it will put an enemy in a ‘down, but not out’ state or holds the attacker in place until freed by a teammate isn’t clear.

It’s worth noting that these images have not been confirmed by Ubisoft, nor have the details for either operator at this time. For now, users should treat these characters as unofficial until all expansion pack details are confirmed by the developer. Considering that the expansion is set to launch in less than two weeks, players probably won’t have to wait much longer for the official details.

Operation Black Ice is the first of four major expansions coming to Rainbow Six Siege, with each release set to launch on a three month cycle. The expansions promise to add new operators, one free map per content pack, and may contain new weapons, cosmetic items, additional game modes, and exclusive seasonal content and events. Leaked material for Operation Black Ice also hints at two additional American operators arriving sometime in April, which is the currently planned start date of season two for the game.

Are you looking forward to giving these new operators a try? Which one are you more excited to play as? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments.

Rainbow Six Siege is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The first expansion, Operation Black Ice, is due out on February 2, 2016.
