Use This Division Code to Get Free Gear Sets

To celebrate the launch of The Division live-action series, Ubisoft is offering fans a free code that unlocks four unique in-game gear sets when the title launches.

The Division beta kicks off before the end of the month and fans are eagerly awaiting the chance to get hands on with the upcoming action-MMO. The final stretch of marketing is in full swing with trailers for the live action tie-in series arriving this week and fans in the U.S. are even able to claim a code that will offer access to alternate gear sets when The Division launches.

To celebrate the launch of the mini-series, Ubisoft has released a promo code that all players can use to unlock and redeem four unique in-game gear sets. To claim the gear, players need to visit the Agent Origins website and follow the steps as prompted. When the time comes to enter the code, it is AGENTORIGINS. Creative, right?

The redemption link shouldn’t activate until March 8, but some Reddit users are reporting that they were already able to redeem the code. Unfortunately, the deal seems to only be valid for gamers in the U.S. at this point. Hopefully a similar promotion will launch for fans in other countries, as well.

Each gear set is inspired by a character on the mini-series and luckily fans can enjoy the loot whether they care about the tie-in material or not. Anyone who has ever spent a significant amount of time in an MMO knows that gear and aesthetic options are one of the few ways to stand out in the world and add some personality to your character. If The Division is anything like Destiny, World of Warcraft, or other MMOs, then it’s safe to assume that collecting and amassing gear will be a primary motivation for players. Why not start early, right?

The massive 26GB beta (on PC) will soon start to give players a better idea of what the game will actually be like, but at this point expectations are very high. After a series of delays, some of the community has lost faith in the action MMO, but a game of this size has the potential to win over a core audience and then expand from there. Destiny had lost a lot of players during the first few months as the loot grind got old, but frequent updates and expansions have continued to draw in more and more players. Time will tell if The Division has the same mass appeal and staying power.

What do you think of the special gear sets? Will you be redeeming the code? Let us know in the comments.

The Division is set to release on March 8, 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
