Destiny: Bungie Tells Players 'We Need Your Help'

An email surveys from Bungie asks fans to rate their most recent experience in Destiny and provide any potential thoughts or comments on how they can be improved.

So far, 2016 has been less than smooth for Bungie who is trying to keep their Destiny player base happy until new content arrives. Unfortunately for the developer, a lack of communication with the fanbase and rumors swirling about a potential delay of Destiny 2 has caused an undercurrent of turmoil which is proving difficult to quell. Seeking answers, Bungie is turning to their fans directly by asking a simple question: Are players still having fun in Destiny?

Emails have started to go out this morning from Bungie asking players to answer that very question. The short survey contains only two questions, asking players to rate their most recent experience in Destiny from a 1 to 5 and then a second question that asks for any additional comments.

The fact that Bungie is specifically asking players if they’re still having fun in Destiny is pretty telling at how dire things have seemingly become. After upsetting players by stealthily switching how matchmaking works, the developer could be trying to find ways to get back in the good graces of their fans. With The Division being compared to Destiny quite often and recently stealing the majority of the headlines thanks to its popular closed beta test, it’s no surprise that Bungie is looking for ways to quickly improve their experience for players.

Player frustration has been on the rise in the past month and an overly quiet Bungie has not helped matters any. The lack of transparency has even caused some high profile players in the community like tripleWRECK to vocalize his dissatisfaction with the current state of Destiny. This sense of uncertainty surrounding the future has not only affected the fanbase, but has also spread to the company itself as former CEO, Harold Ryan, left the company last month, having since been replaced by former COO Pete Parsons.

As players continue to wait for any news on the rumored major content drop happening sometime after February, Bungie preparing to pull the wraps off of their Crimson Days event starting next week. While The Tower will get a maker over through the duration of the event, the core piece to this content is a brand new 2v2 Crucible mode called Crimson Doubles. This elimination game type adds a twist by giving a major buff called Broken Heart to players who have had their partner killed during the round.

Are you happy with the way Bungie is handling Destiny currently, or are you part of the growing fanbase who is seeking clarity and answers about the future of the game? Let us know your thoughts below.

Destiny is available now for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
