Overwatch's Tracer Coming to Heroes of the Storm Soon

Popular MOBA, Heroes of the Storm, gets the time jumping adventurer Tracer later this month and players can unlock her through a variety of ways including pre-ordering Overwatch.

After officially launching last year, Heroes of the Storm has done a great job catering to fans of the three main Blizzard IPs of Diablo, StarCraft, and WarCraft. The MOBA has quickly gained a massive following along with recognition in the eSports community through events like Heroes of the Dorm. With Blizzard’s newest shooter IP, Overwatch, getting ready for launch in May, the developer is celebrating a bit early by bringing one of the iconic heroes from the game into the Nexus.

Tracer, the fast time-jumping adventurer, who has recently been caught up in some controversy, has been officially revealed for Heroes of the Storm. She brings essentially the same look and feel with her from Overwatch, though she changes some of the rules fans have come to expect. Tracer is unique in the fact that unlike other heroes, she is able to shoot her dual pulse pistols guns while moving around the map. In addition, she also has the ability to access her heroic ability called Pulse Bomb at level one and then customize it further after reaching level 10, another first for the franchise.

For those interested in Tracer, there’s a variety of ways to unlock her. The easiest way is by pre-ordering Overwatch: Origins Edition on PC, as this will unlock Tracer for free starting April 19. For everyone else on PC, she’ll be available for purchase on April 26. Alternatively, for players who pre-order Overwatch: Origins Edition on a different platform such as Xbox One or PlayStation 4, a code for the character will be packed in with the game when it launches on May 24.

It’s worth noting that the Origins Edition also nets players a wealth of content not only for Overwatch, but within each of Blizzard’s current offerings of World of WarCraft, Hearthstone, Diablo III, and Starcraft II.

Tracer joins an already sizable cast from the various Blizzard properties even some of the more obscure ones like The Lost Vikings. Just recently, Blizzard added in a duo of heroes from the world of Diablo with Xul the Necromancer and Li-Ming the Wizard. The Zerg Warrior, Dehaka, appears to be next up for Heroes of the Storm, bringing over iconic traits like burrow from the StarCraft franchise.

Are you looking forward to Tracer joining the ranks of Heroes of the Storm? What other Blizzard character are you hoping will make the cut?

Heroes of the Storm is available now on PC, while Overwatch is set of launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on May 24, 2016.
